Robert C. Byrd passed.
My grandmother Donna Keessee had grown up in the same area as Robert Byrd (Sophia – Crab Orchard, W.Va.). She had passed away several years ago. I know she would have been real upset about the passing of Byrd if she was still alive today.
Byrd was a legend in this state. He has done more for West Virginia than anyone else I know.
He’ll truly be missed by many.
I have felt quite depressed over this today.
It is also a good reminder that none of us live forever. Byrd was 92-years-old.
He did a lot with his life. He had set many records in the U.S. senate, being the long-serving Senator and Congressman in history. He had never lost an election. He carried all 55 W.Va. counties in some elections. Byrd had also written the book on the history of the Senate.
What are you doing with your life? Are you following your dreams? Are you going for what you want? Life on Earth is limited. None of us live forever.

Walking can help you sleep better at night.
If so, you might want to try taking a daily walk.
Got a super Snapple Fun Fact today that reminded me of this.
I opened my favorite, diet Snapple Peach Tea.
The inside of lid said: "stepping out for a walk daily can actually help you to sleep better."
This was real fact # 698.

Professionalism.
Anything you do during our own time can impact your professional lives.
This is true for all people and all professionals.
Here is an example in the recent news:
General Stanley McChrystal had an interview with Rolling Stones magazine. President Obama recently fired McChrystal for his comments made for the interview – article. I’ve not read the article and don’t know what he said.
I am concerned about the major point here:
What You do during our own, personal time can impact your professional life, too.
Tip: Be careful how you behave during your private life because your career could easily be thrown-away by a mistake.
Online social networking is popular. Nearly everyone I know has a facebook, myspace, twitter, youtube, blogspot, or some online network.
An old saying said something like: don’t do or say anything you wouldn’t want posted on the front page of the paper. I’d image the same type of saying could apply today. Don’t do anything you wouldn’t want blasted all over the internet. However, many people post a lot of personal information on their online social network pages.
Helpful hint for you: Don’t post anything on your facebook that would be inappropriate. This could include pictures of yourself drinking/ partying, confidential information about patients/ customers, your company’s copyrighted resources, or anything else that could cause harm to others.
Do you want to discover secrets on success? I’m a Recreational Therapist and I’ve written a self-improvement book to help people to become their best. The sub-title of my book is: “A Recreational Therapist’s System on How You Can Become Great.”
Here is an Amazon link for the book. Read it if you’d like some tips and techniques on self-fullfiliment:

4+ cups of coffee could prevent cancer.
New Study shows that drinking more than 4 cups of coffee per day were less likely to get oral and pharynx.
I always report on coffee because I'm an avid coffee drinking. I drink about 6 cups per day during weekdays and about 2 or 3 cups per day on weekends. I just love the taste.
Possible Side Effects:
Coffee is associated with increasing a personsl blood pressure and heart rate. Some people claim it causes them to feel irritable. There are studies that report negative outcomes for coffee.
I feel calm when I drink coffee. It seems to have the opposite effect on me. I can drink 5 or 6 cups of coffee and be okay. This may not be for you.
As always, talk to your physician.
Here is the CNN link for this study:

Pilates.
This is one of my favorites.
The lid had Snapple Real Fact #697:
Pilates stretches your muscles, improving your posture and helping you to appear taller.
Good to know.
Had read before that men who are taller make more money. I'm not sure how valid that study is. The same could be said for people with larger feet.
The people with the smallest feet are children. This age group does not make any money. Adults usually have larger feet. A study would show people with larger feet (adults) would earn more money than people with smaller feet (children).
These are just my random thoughts for the day.
Danny.

Breaking the chain - education for children living in poverty.
She is 16-years-old and she is involved in three of my favorite things:
a.) promoting literacy for children,
b.) Vlunteering/ doing good things in the world, and
c.) Writing.
Riley started a non-profit organization when she was 14-years-old. It is called “Breaking the chain.” This organization helps to provide education to children who are poor.
Plus, she has already written two novels. Can you believe that? If a teenager can write two books then what is stopping you from going for your goals?

Follow your passion
Skateboarding was my passion during my teenage years.
I loved skateboarding. This is what I did every single day that it wasn't raining or snowing with my friends. I skated a lot less during my college years and did some skateboarding up until I was 23-years-old. I'm 30 now and I don't skate as much because the risk of injury is too much for me now. I still enjoy keeping up on pro skaters.
I follow skateboard legend Tony Hawk on twitter. Hawk posted a video of a skateboarder who I was not aware of until now.
Check out his video:
During the 90s my favoite skateboarder was Marc Johnson.
Here is a video of Marc Johnson in a 1997 Maple Skateboards video:
I am also a big fan of Tom Penny (Flip skateboards) I enjoyed the make and feel of skateboards made by Flip. I'd say Flip was my favorite type of board.
Here is a Tom Penny video:
Ed Templton (creator of Toy Machine skateboard Co.) is another one of my favorite skateboarders. Here is an interesting fact. Templeton often skated with Jason Lee, the actor in the Alvin and the chipmunks movie. Did you know Jason Lee was a skateboarder? Here is a Templton video:
QUESTION: What is your passion? are you following your dreams in life?
Do something about your passion today. One of my new passions is writing. You can tell I enjoy it as evidenced by keeping this blog.

Save Aaron
I hate to hear about this case and I have empathy for Aaron. I don't agree with killing. I do wish there was more done to protect Aaron. But there are many more children who are being abused today.
Aaron had been abused for years. The abuser had been stalking him and recently asked to babysit. watch the videos for more information:

Discover the Truth
Are you ready to be transformed? This book finally brings you…
The Whole Truth.
Both good and bad about your destiny creation.
If you’re like many people lately, you may have been frustrated with obstacles, and continually asking yourself, “Why is this happening to me?”
Unfortunately popular theory has led many people to conclude that if something difficult has happened, it must be their fault.
Well, it's time to stop blaming yourself for every problem that may come up! Stop fearing your negative thoughts and get the whole truth about destiny creation.
No matter what cycles you may be going through, your consciousness can turn adversity into great opportunity! This moment is the key that unlocks the door. Open your heart and step into the truth!
As you know, material about the Universal Laws has been all the rage over the past few years, but the truth has been lost somewhere along the way. A distortion of the principles has resulted in feelings of enormous frustration; and the misinterpretation of powerful principles has just become another reason to beat ourselves up!
Sandra wants to heal the self-blame and set the record straight, telling the whole story of destiny creation.
Did you know that . . .
- There’s more than one Law and much more than one formula for getting what you want;
- There are times when visualizing your goal can actually sabotage your desired results;
- It’s not just your thoughts that create your reality - there are several mysteries of creation, and you can use your power of consciousness to influence each one;
- Your soul has an intention that may be very different than your personal desires. When you find out what that intention is, you will be able to get even closer to your goals!
In this enlightening new book, Sandra Anne Taylor examines the many elements of destiny creation, separating the reliable facts from the confusing fiction that has built up around the Universal Laws.
Filled with profound wisdom, clear explanations, and practical techniques, this one-of-a-kind book looks past the clichés and investigates the realities of life.
Here is what some of my favorite authors have to say about this inspiring book:
"Truth, Triumph, and Transformation is your user's guide to intentionally attracting the life of your dreams. As is the nature of Sandra's gorgeous soul, this book is written with integrity, heart, and love. Get ready to forever shift the way you view yourself and the world you're creating."
~ Dr. Darren Weissman, International bestselling author of: Awakening to the Secret Code of Your Mind
“This is an important book that is sure to become one of the classics of all time! Apply these solid principles from Sandra's book and you will experience clarity, enlightenment and the truth - the real truth, about the law of attraction."
~ Peggy McColl
New York Times best-selling Author of Your Destiny Switch
“Truth, Triumph and Transformation is clear, concise and right to the point as it separates out all the flowery magical thinking into actual creation of your immediate environment. This book brings power to our reality and it's the one book that I wholeheartedly recommend on this vast subject. Phenomenal Book!”
~ Jewels Johnson
Law of Attraction Radio Network
"Sandra Anne Taylor has done it again. In her newest book, Truth, Triumph, and Transformation, her rigorous sorting of the lies from the laws provides a solid understanding of just why so many attract the opposite of their desires and why so many others fail to hold on to the good they bring into their lives. You will want to read this inspiring work...for this book will work for you in all areas of your life!”
~ Eldon Taylor
New York Times best-selling Author of Choices and Illusions, Mind Programming and What Does That Mean
“Sandra Anne Taylor is a true pioneer among the throng of Law of Attraction “experts.” Truth, Triumph and Transformation really does sort out fact from fiction, and provides practical strategies to help people harness the power of attraction in all aspects of their lives.”

Fate - Destiny?
Is this fate? Was it destiny? Was it just a freak event?
I had taken several courses in leisure during my undergraduate and graduate years. Leisure is based the concept of "time." Time is interesting.
I wonder if our lives are pre-planned or if we have control. I like to think I am in charge and am the decision maker in my own life. I like to think that the choices I made in the past have got me to where I am today.... or, was I going to end up here all along?
Wonder how many other couples have crossed paths years before they ever knew each other? Like the Disney song -- It's a small world...
Want to read a weird, but interesting book on fate vs. free will?
I thought you might. This is one of the books that I had read for a graduate course.
"a timequake, a sudden glitch in the space-time continuum, made everybody and everything do exactly what they'd done during past decades, for good or ill, a second time..." They had no choice, but to re-live their own lifes the same way. Once they get back to the point where the timequake happened, people were apathetic. the stopped taking action. did they have free will then?

Keep notes of praise
Recently, I had read Barbra Fredrickson’s Positivity: Top-Notch Research Reveals the 3-to-1 Ratio that Will Change Your Life. Somewhere in the book, Fredrickson had suggested keeping mementos with positive messages or praise in a folder. This could help you remind yourself of the positives.
I decided to start putting any praise or recognition at my blog. This may seem like shameless self-promotion (laugh aloud). It is put here to remind me of my own positives and to inspire you to “do-good” deeds, too. I hope you get praise and feel good as well. Here are three kind things that have been written to me during the last few weeks:
First, I received an email with this message today:
Thank you so much for all of the important work that you do for children. If
there is anyway that I can provide support, resources or additional materials
for you, please don't hesitate to contact me. We truly value all of your efforts
here at [private].
This message was provided by a person who provides support to people who use her anger management program for children with special needs. I've used her program for about 5-years now and had recently sent a quick message to let her know that I was still using the resources and training.
By the end of today, I had also received a second messsage from a friend who had posted this at my facebook:
You have wonderful beneficial resources for our fellow Therapeutic Recreation peers and colleagues...Thank you for your contribution to our field.
Third, I received a positive “4 out of 5 stars” review for my book, Discover Hidden Secret Wisdom. This was posted yesterday!
Read what was written:
This book is very informative. It's useful for people who work in the human
services field. The author, Danny Pettry, has provided therapeutic care for
children as a recreational therapist. In his book, Discover Hidden Secret
Wisdom, he brings the tools he has acquired through his practice as a
recreational therapist into focus for everyone - providing insight into how to
live a happy and successful life. This book contains self-improvement, personal
growth and development and other like tips. I highly recommend it.
This new review is featured at Amazon.com
Last week, I had received an email with an interesting message. As a reminder, I provide therapeutic care for children who’ve been abused at a treatment center located in one of the two Virginias. Recently, I had promoted a book on understanding abuse. Here is what one person had emailed me:
Naturally, I'll keep the name of the individual above private.I was a product of abuse when I was a child and had a very difficult time dealing
with it. You are very much needed in this world of child abuse whether it be
physical or sexual. You are very much appreciated by me and by any who have been unlucky enough to have been abused as a child. Take care, Danny, and have a wonderful evening. And, remember always how much you are appreciated by those who need you the most.
I have a lot of passion for helping children who've been abused. I couldn't see myself doing many other jobs. I feel very pleased to hear messages of encouragement. It can be a tough job sometimes.
Want to learn more about me and what I do to help people to be their best?
Then check out my book:

Book on Sexual Abuse
Today, I want to share an interesting book with you.
It's called:
Sexual Abuse Defined Bondage—It Is Time to Tell by Vera Milestone
Vera Milestone shares her harrowing experience as a sexually and emotionally abused child.
In this book, Sexual Abuse Defined: Bondage – It Is Time to Tell, Vera opens her heart to the masses, revealing the dark secrets and heavy burden she has long carried.
Her story, her thoughts and reflections, are detailed through several short narratives, poems, and images which tell of the anguish and grief her experiences has brought her, not only in her childhood, but all through her adult life as well.
Abuse leaves a mark, no matter how seemingly insignificant to others. It changes a person and shatters one’s innocence, leaving one broken and hopeless. Vera hopes that this does not happen to others. She speaks out to bring her message to others, not only to other victims, but also to all other bystanders who should do their part in keeping the people around them safe.
“I am a victim. Please respect me too.” –Vera Milestone

Want to MELT into your pillow and mattress and stay that way for the entire night?
Danny Pettry suggests Romancing Sleep for Tips on Sleeping. When you suffer from any sort of sleep disorder nothing else seems so important as a good night’s rest.
And even if you THINK you’re getting a restful sleep, studies show it’s probably NOT the sort of deep, DEEPsleep that can provide the greatest life-enhancing, age-reversing, and energy-boosting benefits.
Want the solution?
Take a minute, use the link below to go to the website and get all the details on Constantine Darling and Terri Swahn's new book, Romancing Sleep.
