Overcoming abuse

She emailed me because I'm a recreational therapist. Of course, I'll keep her real name private.

She said:

I was wondering if you would happen to know of any good online resources for someone recovering from an abusive relationship? I did some searching but only really found information on abuse itself and how to get out of an abusive relationship - but only one or two links on how to deal with the emotions and memories that come /afterward/

I replied:

"I hate to hear about you having had an abusive relationship. That is upsetting to hear. I regret to say that I'no not sure of any online resources. Do you think you should talk to a counselor? That would be my first suggestion.

I can suggest a few books, like:

a.) happy for no reason by marci shimoff

b.) the astonishing power of emotions by esther hicks

c.) a return to love by marianne williamson.

Save money - see if the local library has any of these books.

You may want to talk to a life coach.

My friend Dr. Jeanine is a life coach for women. I watch all of her youtube videos and I'll share a few of them below.

You may want to email her.

Here is her web-page: http://www.simplydivinesolutions.com/
