A Creative Hobby

Idealists often see the world in optimistic ways. I’m an idealist. We need $3,000 to break-even for the monster books project. I thought that could happen when I see so many projects on kickstarter reaching $10,000 or $20,000. I figured $3,000 was just a drop in the bucket. Laugh aloud. My last campaign for the monster books was unsuccessful because it didn’t reach the minimum level, which I set at $547. However, it was more successful than the current project in several ways. It had $429 of $547 in pledged support. The new campaign only has $172 out of $400. I was so hopeful and partially overconfident that these books would be a success that I went ahead and took out a pre-loan to self-publish the books (at nearly $3,000). My justifications are simple. I like creating things. I’m a real project creator at heart. I know other people who like to take vacations or buy snowboarding or skiing equipment or buy a lot of clothes. I suppose those are all bad justifications for my own habit/ hobby. Check it out here: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/DannyPettry/new-exciting-fun-books-your-child-will-love-readin
