Love and 17 years apart

People who follow my blog know that I am a huge fan of art, creativity, and of course, books.

I personally think that all love and creativity has a root in love. People create because of love. I’m not talking about a passion for their hobby or interest. I am talking about a love for another human being on Earth.

I do believe there is a possibility that people create because they have a passion for another human being. Sometimes, the creator is not able to see or be with the person who she (or he) loves, so they create more. In one of my favorite books on being creativity, Warrior of the Light, Paulo Coelho said, “for the warrior there is no such thing as an impossible love…. Without love, he is nothing.”

When one door closes, another door opens. But we will always have the experience of love from those past places behind closed doors. It happened.

Today, I want to share a video regarding love and creating art. I can't speak for anyone but myself, but I found this video to be very powerful.

Before watching this video, understand:

Ulay and Marina were in a very intense art relationship as well as an intense romantic relationship in the 70s.

And one day they decided to cut off both of those ties entirely and move on.

And up until this moment, they had not seen each other for 17 years.

On top of that Marina breaks character during her "Artist is Present" performance andreaches out to Ulay -- Simply amazing.
