U.S. Senator is 92-years-old.

I've been posting several blog entries on people working in the elderly years.

Realize that many recreational therapists work with the elderly. This is fast growing population in the U.S.

Recently posted about a 100-year-old physician and a 102-year-old judge who were both still working.

Believe that keeping active in a job that a person truly loves could be a secret to longevity.

Robert C. Byrd is the senior senator from West Virginia. He’s worked with every U.S. President since Harry S. Truman.

Byrd is not only the eldest senator at the time; he is the longest-serving congressman in history. Byrd was elected to an unprecedented 9th term in the senate.

Please note that, I, Danny Pettry, am not advocating for any political views at my blog. I am point out people who are still working in their senior years.

Here is a short youtube video on Byrd:

Judge is 102.

Feel like I read about a person reading 102-years-old almost daily.

There are about 70,000 Americans who are in the 100 and older age group.

Believe this is a rapidly growing age-group.

Read today about a 102-year-old lawyer who shows up to work every day. His name is Wesley Brown. Think that keeping active by working is one key to living longer. A few days ago I had posted about a physician who was still going to work every day who is in his 100s.

Ron Sylvester with the Witchita newspaper site a study that said:
People who live to 100 and beyond exercise their brains, too, by reading, painting, and playing musical instruments

100-year-old physician

Watched an inspirational video at CNN about Dr. Watson.

He’s a 100-year-old who is still practicing medicine.

CNN claims he’s America’s most eldest known practicing physician.

His work-ethic is inspiring.

Believe that keeping active and doing something a person loves are secrets to keeping a person youthful. Think retiring early is the worst thing a person can do unless they have something to do.

Frank Buckles turned 109-years-old.

He is the last U.S. veteran alive from World War I.

Buckles is an American and he is from West Virginia.

Buckles is fighting to get a WWI memorial in mall in Washington, D.C.

There is a memorial for all other great wars of the century at the mall.

Here are two YouTube videos on Buckles when he was only 106-years-old.
