Zlata Filipovic has been on my list of "must-meet" people since I had read her book, "Zlata's Diary." Zlata and I are the same age. Her coutnry had a civl war when she was a young teenager. She kept a diary during this time. Her experiences were very rough. Zlata survived, which I'm very glad about. People compared her to Anne Frank and her diary.
Found Zlata on a social network online. Sent her an email -- hoping it was her and not someone who created an account with her name. She replied. I feel so great to have actually received an email from her.

many thanks for your kind words - and sorry i did not accept the friends' request but i hope you can understand i am just trying to keep facebook for 'real-life' friends - people i went to school with, worked with etc! your contact is really appreciated - many thanks for getting in touch!
