Healing Through Creativity conference

I'm a recreational therapist (as you probably already know). I use a mix of activity-based treatments to help children to heal and grow. I provide thearpeutic care for children who've been abused at a facility in one of the two Virginias. Expressive arts is one form of treatment that some recreational therapists use to help people heal. I use this in my practice as a Rec. Therapist. Art therapists have a more direct training in the thearpeutic healing through use of arts.

Today, I want to inform you about this upcoming conference:

Healing Through Creativity has a calling for the following: artists, presenters, and performers for their upcoming festival.

Here is some information that they've posted:

We accept all forms of art works including paintings, poetry, writings and crafts. We accept group collections and multiple pieces. We welcome submissions from artists groups, veterans groups and overseas entries. We accept art works from amateurs and professionals.

Past presenters and performers have included self esteem workshops, art workshops, author presentations, dance performances, singing performances, expressive poetry performances and performances by groups and individuals. Survivors of trauma are encouraged to perform their healing works and connect with others.
