November is
NaNoWriMo; it's a time to celebrate writing and the enormous commitment of time
and will that it takes to draft a novel from start to finish. NaNoWriMo sets
out to prove that everyone, given the right drive, can tell the story they have
within. But what do you do when you finish that draft? What can you do with
that story once you pour it out on the page in a thirty-day frenzy of caffeine,
post-its, and blistered fingers? For many, self-publishing will become an
option.
The Indie Guide to Indie Publishing is a start-to-finish guide for self-publishers, cobbling together expert advice from nine successful indie authors and designers. If you're considering self-publication on any project, be it fiction, an art book, or a comic, this book can help you. If you've already self-published but you're looking to take it to the next level, this book can help you, too.
The Kickstarter for the book runs until December 3rd and hopes to raise funds to pay the nine experienced authors to write their articles. This book, complete with index, table of contents, and glossary of term, will cover a range of subjects from editing to promotion to recording an audio book. Backer rewards include copies of the book and other writers swag, but also include prizes for non-writers who just want to help out."
